When installing the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C12005, the top of the receiver tube is 1-3/8 inches from the mounting holes the trailer hitch is attached to.

There is an EA unit(Bumper shock) on the end of the frame and there are two holes right below the unit. That is where the trailer hitch is attached. The metal thickness, or wall thickness, of the cross tube of Curt trailer hitch # C12005 is 1/4 inch. The brackets on the sides of the hitch are obviously thicker even than that, 3/8 if an inch or so. The thickness measurement can vary slightly because of the powder coating. This hitch is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 300 pounds tongue weight. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
